About

As a youth Tyler spent his spare time on physical endeavors such as playing recreational sports, hiking, fishing, and canoeing. As an adult he worked a myriad of jobs such as a not-so-handy handyman, service industry, civil engineering, leasing agent, designer, and even managed a bowling alley—often holding these jobs at the same time. More recently he likes to spend his time working on his home, sitting fireside, spending time with family & friends while also writing poetry. His work has many influences but predominantly utilizes the style of concrete poetry. While Tyler has no formal training, he has been influenced by many great writers including, e.e. cummings, Gertrude Stein, Guillaume Apollinaire, Langston Hughes, and Bashō.

Tyler’s work focuses on physical spaces with respect to emotion, thought, and memory within those physical spaces. The works are primarily the idle thoughts of a half-witted imbecile and not to be taken too seriously. Should you, however, find a moment of tenderness while reading his compositions he entirely suggests you try and stay in that space. It feels good to exist there.
